Sri Lanka will for the first time pass the two million tourist arrivals mark in mid December Sri Lanka Tourism Chairman Paddy Withana said.
Arrivals at the end of November stood at 1.826 million which is an increase of 14.7%
Chinese visitors grew 10.5% to 18,590 and up to November.Total Chinese arrivals stood at 252,259. In contrast Indian arrivals also saw an increase reaching upto a total of 318,784. This is a 13.5% increase as against previous November. Western Europe increased to 46,565 (16.4% increase) in November with the total so far being 574,978.
UK arrivals were up 23%t to 13,337 to a total of 167,713 up to November.
Visitors from Germany and France increased 10.6% and 3.6% respectably.
