Thriposha to launch their products in the local market
Thriposha which comes under the Health Ministry will be launching their products to the local market for the first time Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Thriposha Chairman M.D. Bandusena speaking to ‘Daily News Business’ said the main reason they could not supply to the local open market was because did not have the necessary machinery to meet the required demand.
After this matter was brought to President Maithripala Sirisena who knew the inside out of the institution being the former Health Minister had allocated Rs.500 million from the Budget 2016 to purchase and install a new machine. In the Budget 2015, the annual allocation was Rs 200 million only.
“We then imported the machine from the USA last week and now we are able to meet the demand.”
“In addition when the old machines from the same US Company are repaired and up and running we will have a surplus which will be released to the open market from February.”
He said that the products will come in 100, 250, 500 and 750 gram packs and will be available at supermarkets and retail stores.
