LAUGFS Gas PLC has once again proved its role as a trailblazer in the corporate world, by securing another prestigious Gold Award at the 52nd CA Annual Report Awards held by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

This marks the fourth consecutive year LAUGFS Gas PLC has been bestowed with the Gold Award in the Power and Energy sector.

The CA Annual Report Awards is one of the most celebrated events among corporates in Sri Lanka and serves to recognize and reinforce the importance of transparency, accountability and corporate governance among organizations in the country.

“We are honoured to have received the Gold award yet again at the CA Annual Report Awards this year, which reinforces our commitment to reporting excellence with transparency and integrity,” commented LAUGFS’s Group Managing Director, Thilak De Silva. “As a trusted Sri Lankan brand that is leading and pioneering our industries, our teams are committed to delivering sustained value to our stakeholders,” he further elaborated.

This is the third integrated report by LAUGFS Gas PLC, adopting globally recognized standards and practices including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 guidelines, to present its economic, social and environmental performance.

LAUGFS Gas PLC is a diversified conglomerate, listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange. With a strong presence in the power and energy, logistics, services, leisure and real estate sectors, the company has expanded its presence overseas during the financial year, setting up operations in Bangladesh and Dubai.

LAUGFS Gas, a trusted name in the local LPG downstream industry, strengthened its regional presence with the expansion of its operations to Bangladesh last year, becoming one of the largest LPG distributors in Bangladesh with an annual turnover exceeding USD 38 million. LAUGFS’s regional energy presence is further strengthened with LAUGFS Maritime, which operates its own fleet of LPG vessels, and LAUGFS Terminals, which is currently setting up one of the largest LPG import and export terminals in South Asia.

SLOGAL Energy DMCC was set up earlier this year with headquarters in Dubai, and operates as the energy trading arm of the company. LAUGFS has also established a strong presence in the renewable energy sector with LAUGFS Power, which has made significant investments in hydro and solar energy, and is currently setting up Sri Lanka’s largest solar power project.
