Sri Lanka Tea Board participates at ‘Coffee Tea’ in Moscow

The 8th edition of “Coffee, Tea, and Cacao Russian Expo-2021” started on March 11, 2021 at Music Media Dome in Moscow and lasted for three days till March 13, 2021. This year Coffee, Tea, Cacao Russian Expo-2021 brought together 170 companies which were exclusively for Coffee, Tea and Cacao.

The Ceylon Tea stand was officially opened by Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, along with Minister Counsellor Mohamed Anas, Third Secretary (Tea Promotion) Tishan de Silva, and Sri Lankan embassy staff.

Coffee Tea Cacao Russian Expo is a key industry event for the production chain from bean and leaf to cup. It offers exhibition, business practice, educational programs, professional coffee and tea competitions for barista, roasters and tea masters. Coffee Tea Cacao Russian Expo can be considered as the largest professional event in Russia and other CIS countries. At one time, in one place Coffee Tea Cacao Russian Expo will bring together professionals from Russia and other CIS countries and abroad.

Addition to the expo annual national qualifying championship – Tea Master Cup (TMC) Russia, one of the most attractive Tea related activities in the country was held within the framework of this Expo. The objectives of the event were to generate high tea culture, development of tea professionals, and improve the demand for teas in Russia. This year, Sri Lanka Tea Board received the status of General Sponsor of the Tea Master Cup Russia. The Tea Promotion Unit of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia arranged to fulfill the total requirement of Ceylon Tea for Tea Master Cup competition by offering more than 15 samples from different Ceylon Tea growing regions under categories of Tea Preparation & Tea Tasting. The Ambassador was invited for the awarding ceremony by the Organizer and addressed at the event on Ceylon Tea.

Visitors were offered a warm Cup of Ceylon Tea by Russian tea demonstrator who was dressed with a Sri Lankan traditional Osari.
