Acme Group upgrades Food Safety Management Systems

ACME Group has recently upgraded its food safety management systems in line with the latest version of International Food Safety Management System (FSMS) certifications of ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 Version 5, for their flexible packaging manufacturing facilities in Piliyandala and Pannala respectively. The certifications were awarded by SGS International Certification Services, UK through its local office, SGS Lanka Ltd.

ACME manufactures packaging materials in the form of printed/laminated reels, pouches, sheets and lids converted out of Aluminium Foil, BOPP, LLDPE, Nylon, Polyester and Paper for the packaging of a wide range of products such as Confectionery, Milk Powder, Biscuits, Snacks, Beverages, Tea, Noodles, Soya Nuggets, Processed Meat Products, Pharmaceuticals, Detergent Powder, Agro Chemicals, Cigarette Foil as well Garments etc.

The Piliyandala factory of ACME is the country’s sole manufacture of Aluminum Foil based flexible packaging items wherein the company has successfully entered export markets. ACME’s list of customers includes and is not limited to market leaders such as Maliban Biscuits and Maliban Milk, Ceylon Biscuits, Ceylon Chocolates, Fonterra, Dilmah, Prima, DSI, CEAT Tyres, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Wijaya Products, Uswatta Confectioneries, Pelwatta, Cherish, Ariya Milk Products, Lanka Milk Foods, Hemas and State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (SPMC).

In addition, ACME Group holds the prestigious International Quality Management System (QMS) certification of ISO 9001:2015 for both their flexible packaging manufacturing facilities in Pililyandala and Pannala. ACME ensures that their products are in high quality and food safe by aligning their systems in line with said international certification systems.

The management of ACME is proud to declare the upgrade of its Management Systems (QMS/FSMS) especially as the Group has increased its manufacturing capabilities in terms of both quantity and quality, which has resulted in increased customer satisfaction and confidence, notwithstanding the unfavourable business environment of the country and the world at large caused by the recent Covid 19 pandemic.
