Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Beaurau (SLTPB) is in the process of planning the International Ramayan festival 2020 in Sri Lanka.
To make the event a success, SLTPB organized a Ramayan Training Program on 18 February 2020 at the auditorium of Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management from 9.00 am to 12.pm for local travel trade targeting the upcoming festival. The main purpose of the training program was to improve the knowledge on Ramayana Trail among the Tour Operators and Tour Guides who directly connects with the Ramayana Tours to Sri Lanka.
The training program was conducted by former Director General of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, S. Kalesilvam (founder of Ramayana Yathra in Sri Lanka and current visiting lecturer at SLITHM).
The participation of 94 travel agents from 47 travel agencies in the local travel trade showed interest on promoting this niche tourism segment.
