Cargills Bank Kandy Branch moves to own premises

MD Senarath Bandara

To enhance service to the hill capital of Kandy and surrounding areas, Cargills Bank has relocated its Kandy branch to its premises on the first floor of the iconic Cargills Building in Kandy, from its previous location within the Cargills Food City premises.

The soft opening of the new Kandy Branch took place on April 8 and the Branch was officially opened by Senarath Bandara, Managing Director and CEO of Cargills Bank. Senior members of the Management Teams of both Cargills Bank and Cargills Food City, along with selected customers, were present at the event, which was held in strict accordance with health guidelines.

Commenting on the newly relocated Branch, Bandara said, “We have relied on the strength of the Cargills group, Food City, in particular, to extend our reach across the island. However, we are now ready to launch our Kandy branch as a dedicated, standalone branch to keep up with our promise to serve every Sri Lankan as the nation’s most inclusive bank. Kandy is the epicentre for trade, commerce and culture in the Central Province and we are expanding to serve our customers better, providing convenience to retail customers while catering to emerging entrepreneurs as well.”

Bandara further added, “Our new branch will ensure a better service so that customers can make the best use of their time. I take this opportunity to invite everyone to visit our newly relocated Kandy branch and enjoy convenience, speed and comfort amidst a friendly and calming atmosphere.”

Established in 2014, with a vision to be Sri Lanka’s most inclusive bank driven by digital enablement, Cargills Bank is rated AA-(lka) with a Stable Outlook by Fitch Ratings Lanka and is the financial services arm of the Cargills Group, providing a full range of banking and financial services.

In addition to traditional channels such as branches and ATMs, customers can access their Cargills Bank accounts through over 430 Cargills FoodCity outlets island-wide with free cash deposits and withdrawals at any Cargills FoodCity counter courtesy of the Cargills Cash Service, giving customers extended banking hours to undertake their transactions.
