Sri Lanka’s leading private higher educational provider, the British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) recently organised the first ever five-star welcoming for undergraduate students in Sri Lanka aptly named “Fresher’s Eve”, which was held at the Cinnamon Grand hotel on 20th February 2021. The theme of the event entitled “It Starts with us” involved the distribution of Orientation certificates to students who were also given an insight into the educational experience at BCAS. The Event highlighted the need for improving soft skills and knowledge on multiple disciplines for future leaders to better face the challenges of the modern era, focusing mainly on national and international demands.
Mr. Eranga Weeramanthri Chief Executive Officer at BCAS, welcomed the undergraduates present at the occasion which was followed by the distribution of certificates for the Long Orientation Participants of the BTEC HND Program. The CEO explained the BCAS vision for undergraduates and the educational journey for students on the path to becoming future enterprising graduates. The certificates were distributed by Mr. Weeramanthri, together with the other Heads of departments at BCAS. Several key lecturers at the campus from various fields spoke at length on the positive attributes of learning with BCAS and the overall experience of studying with Sri Lanka’s most trusted private institute which has won over 18 local and international educational awards and has a proven 100% success rate due to its esteemed panel of highly qualified lecturers. To engage the student there were also a set of team-building activities and competitions organised at the event which showcased BCAS's innovative approach to student-centric learning.
