
Double XL launched its first-ever virtual shopping experience platform in Sri Lanka catering to local and international shoppers. The power of online commerce came to prominence after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founder/Director Adhisha Dahanayaka said, “The current situation has to lead us to this and we don’t want our customers to miss the shopping experience, so with the team, we decided to create this platform for locals and international shoppers as the brand is very popular in India and The Maldives”.
She added, what motivated the concept, was to start somewhere and to sustain the brand as the pandemic had stopped many activities.”

“The aim was to create a personal touch on an online platform and see that the customer doesn’t miss out on the shopping experience. While creating the online platform, we run through every possible aspect concerning shopping”.
Dahanayaka further added that tourists visiting the country with the current Health Ministry and Sri Lankan Tourism Board approval and guidelines are welcome to the shop.
“Whatever the necessary measures that we need to take regarding this, will be done. We are ready to welcome tourists, with all precautionary measures”.
Established in 2010, Double XL pioneers in catering to the plus-size population of Sri Lanka. Founder/Director Adhisha Dahanayaka, Priyan Senerath and Deminthe Dahanayake wanted to break the stigma around plus-sized clothing and remained consistent in offering its customers comfort, unique designs, style and quality manufactured clothing for over a decade.
