Heerassagala Sub Post Office opens

Hapan account holder receives gifts

The new Heerassagala Sub Post Office, established by Sri Lanka Post and National Savings Bank (NSB), was opened recently by the Minister of Media, Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella, in parallel to the World Postal Day, which falls on 09th October, which is important to the Department of Posts and was also declared as the Thrift Month by National Savings Bank.

This computerized Sub Post Office, established at the Heerassagala Sumiththa Memorial Community Welfare Centre facilitates all services offered by the Department of Posts.

Further, to improve the access to convenient saving available for the people, opportunity is granted to open NSB accounts at this Sub Post Office. Accordingly, now people in the area can open Hapan Accounts for Children, Sthree Accounts for women, ordinary savings accounts as well as Fixed Deposit Accounts at the Sub Post Office.

Postmaster General, Ranjith Ariyaratne, Chairperson of National Savings Bank, Keasila Jayawardena, Deputy Postmaster Generals, Rajitha Ranasinghe, Thusitha Hulangamuwa and Chamisha de Silva, Deputy General Managers of the Bank, Ajith Peiris and Lal Karunathilaka and Assistant General Manager, Malkanthi de Silva, Member of Provincial Council,. R Chamikara, President of Heerassagala Rural Development Society, Dammika D Sumitta and many other distinguished guests were present at the occasion.

The entire building, at which this Sub Post Office is located, is constructed with the provisions allocated to Keasila Jayawardena, the Chairperson of NSB, when she was serving as a Member of the Central Provincial Council in 2010.
