Russel’s Fashion diversifies to make face masks

Diversifying to meet the need for healthy face masks of international quality, Russel’s Fashion and Design (Pvt) Limited an associate of Russel’s Pvt Ltd have ventured into the manufacturing of face masks.

The company which is also much sought after from schools and sports clubs for t-shirts also caters to the corporate sector stitching uniforms. Russel’s Fashion and Design also provides a competitive range of men and women’s clothing of international standard, maintaining the “Made in Sri Lanka” status.

“There is a demand especially from the corporate sector for high quality and health masks and this is why we have now opened a section to stitch masks of international standards,” said General Manager of Russel’s Group of Companies, Lindsay Fernando,

He also said that during the lockdown too they continued their core business, catering and other associate businesses by changing their business models. These operations were spearheaded by two Directors Jehan and Rashane Perera sans any interruptions. “We also went out of our way to look after the welfare of our workforce. We did not initiate pay cuts and retrenching as we have faith that the country would return to normalcy quicker than we anticipated and business too would function but with additional health care guidelines,” Founder Chairman Russell Perera said.

“We have also invested and refurbished their Elvitigala building and the soft opening took place last week.”

The company with a humble beginning in 1988 and as ‘the pioneers of tea services’ in Sri Lanka, will continue to accept even larger catering orders and also provide the tea service to companies adhering to new health regulations. He said that they also re-look at exporting tea once again when ‘normalcy’ returns to the world.
