Malaysian TRUCKNET Global to invest in Sri Lanka

TRUCKNET CEO Adren Chong with Chairman Ihthisam Holdings, Abul Mawahib in Malaysia

One of the leading truck body manufactures from Malaysia, TRUCKNET Global Berhad, will be investing in Sri Lanka soon.

TRUCKNET which won the best entrepreneur award for innovation at the Asian Pacific international Entrepreneur award ceremony held in Malaysia has already appointed Ihthisam Holdings Colombo as their exclusive business partner in Sri Lanka.

Chairman Ihthisam Holdings, Abul Mawahib said that they have business venture partnerships in higher education in both Malaysia and Singapore and saw the success of TRUCKNET.

He said that Malaysian company TRUCKNET is involved in the building of mini cafes, restaurants, coffee shops, phone and booths on trucks giving easy access for small and medium sector entrepreneurs to start a business and be mobile.

“The truck can be driven to any event thus ensuring mobility.”

Many entrepreneurs not only in Malaysia but in Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia are these trucks. “In Sri Lanka these contraptions can easily built on mini trucks.”

Mawahib said that the Malaysian company is already having manufacturing plants in Japan Malaysia Indonesia and several other countries. They come with mini generators and solar powered lighting, step ladders and adequate space for people to walk about on the truck.

“I met TRUCKNET CEO Adren Chong in Malaysia early this year and he agreed to share the technology with us and set up assembly plant in Sri Lanka.”

“Most of the material available for assembly is found locally which will make final product economical.”
