
The Curry Pot Restaurant in a mega expansion drive opened their third outlet at Milagiriya Avenue, Colombo 4, last week with Wild Life, Christian Affairs and Minister of Tourism John Amaratunga as Chief Guest.
The Minister said that Marine Drive is now gaining popularity over the Galle Road for dining and there is an increased demand for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine which was even highlighted in the ‘Lonely Planet’ Magazine recently.
Chairman Shyamal Wickramasingha said that he opened the Curry Pot Restaurant ten years ago, mainly to offer authentic healthy food and it caught up. “We started from Marine Drive in Kollupitiya and then expanded to Clifford Avenue, Kollupitiya, mainly to meet both local and foreign clientele demands for authentic Sri Lanka cuisine.”
The two storied new Curry Pot Restaurant at Milagiriya, has a special Karaoke Bar, Smoking room and could cater to over 150 people with special private dining areas as well.
He said that there was a growing demand for Sri Lankan cuisine and to meet this demand, they would be opening more outlets in Colombo and outstations soon.
