Chairman ACI Financial Markets Association (ACIFMA), Bruno Langfritz who was in Sri Lanka as a precursor to the arrangements for the organization’s world congress to be held in Colombo in October feels comfortable about the current security measures in the island.
He told the media yesterday, “I’m thrilled to have Colombo hosting this very prestigious event in our calendar as it not only showcases the beauty of this magnificent island but also the important role it is slated to play in financial markets in this region, which to me will be one of the most crucial driving forces in regional financial markets in the future.”
He said that in comparison to other countries in the gulf and even in Asia the security is tight and tourists feel very safe.
“Despite this tight security the customs, immigrations and the baggage clearing processes were smooth at the country’s main airport in Katunayake. There were no unwanted delays at the airport which is very encouraging for the tourists,” he said.
Being the leading global association of wholesale financial market professionals contributing towards market development, “we are surely looking forward to a fruitful event with this galaxy of renowned speakers.”
