The Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) is set to introduce an MBA with Hospitality Management for its membership, which includes a first-of-its-kind mentorship programme to enhance knowledge sharing to the new generation hotel management students. It is one of the key features of CHSGA’s five-year strategic plan to spearhead the Sri Lankan Tourism and Hospitality Industry. CHSGA represents eminent hospitality professionals with a membership of over 1,500 individuals, who hold influential positions both locally and internationally.
CHSGA would sign a MOU with ANC Education on July 18, 2019, at the Hilton Hotel, to offer the University of West London (UWL) MBA with Hospitality Management which is one of the best in the world for its members. The University of West London is a Top 50 UK University (Guardian League Table 2019), No. 04 University in London and it is a recognized international University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka, as listed in the Commonwealth Universities Yearbook and International Handbook of Universities.
CHSGA, having realized the growing need for the proper grooming of students of hospitality education and the serious issue of hands-on knowledge sharing by industry giants to these aspiring hoteliers, the CHSGA has taken on the task of equipping future leaders through a mentoring programme running parallel to study courses.
Additionally, this could avoid the necessity of bringing down industry heads from overseas to head the hotels, since CHSGA hopes to equip local hoteliers as leaders. To make this vision a reality, students would be exposed to a variety of industry case studies and business concepts to develop knowledge and competencies needed to take the hospitality industry to the next level of competence.
ANC Education, the leading transnational education provider in Sri Lanka with over a decade of experience in the education sector, offers this globally recognized MBA with a Hospitality Management programme, which provides an excellent blend of Hospitality Management and Business Administration knowledge to students to contribute to the growth of the Hospitality sector in Sri Lanka.
Patrick Pereira, CHSGA Strategy Committee Chairman said, “Our Hospitality industry hinges on hiring the rights people, motivating them, training them, caring about them and making winners out of them. It is vital that customers wish to come back and it is their experience that determines the longevity and endurance of these enterprises. We are confident that the ANC - UWL world renowned MBA programme would help enforce our strategic plans of raising the bar of the industry in terms of quality, service, culture and brand.”
CHSGA President Samantha Gunarathna stated, “Having identified the industry’s need for professionals, we are confident that the University of West London MBA with Hospitality Management, would provide the right foundation and training to our prospective, talented students and would prove to be a great help towards growth and development of the hospitality and tourism industry.”
