Over 20 HR professionals representing multinationals, blue chip companies, government corporations, and NGOs were enrolled in the programme which was conducted over 5 full days.

Some of the areas that were covered in the Certified HR Auditor programme were the concept and philosophy of HRD with a focus on growth, various HR systems which help promote the development objective, conducting a competency audit to identify competencies required by HRD personnel as well as line managers, CEOs, various CXO positions and identify any competency gaps, how best to build or fill these competency gaps, and identify the organizational culture and values that are required to achieve the organizational goals and any gaps, and finally the impact of HR which covered how companies can use HR to build intellectual capital.

“The feedback that we have received from participants of the 4 previous Certified HR Auditor Programmes, as well as their organizations, has been very positive and encouraging. This is one of the main reasons why we have proceeded to organize this 5th Certified HR Auditor Programme” said Sarath Jayasinghe- Chairman, Sub-committee for Consultancy, Training & Development, CIPM Sri Lanka.

“Already there are Certified HR Auditors who are working with and for CIPM in our many consultancy assignments with private and public sector customers. This will help CIPM to propagate this concept of HR Audit and its benefits to other companies throughout Sri Lanka thereby raising the standards of HR. HR Audit improves the HR practices and is a concept in human resource development.” he added.

“HR Audit is a health check for HR strategies to assess whether these are properly aligned with the goals and objectives of the business. Furthermore, correct HR practices can help in deploying technology to maximize benefits for all stakeholders in the organization. HR Audit is not only about HR strategies but also covers people practices, leadership styles, and culture, amongst others, to understand, enhance and align HR strategies with business goals” said Nandini Chawla-CEO of TVRLS and lead facilitator of the programme.
