Grand Kandyan hosts authentic Chinese food festival

Expanding their already diverse culinary portfolio, The Grand Kandyan, Kandy, collaborated with Minzu Hotel, Beijing, to bring an authentic Chinese cuisine experience to Sri Lankans. Special chefs from Minzu Hotel were flown to The Grand Kandyan to cook gastronomic dinners for Sri Lankan foodies. The festival was held from November 9-12 from 7 at The Tamarind Restaurant.

Live cooking demonstrations from Chef Li Xiaoliang, Chef Li Yanxia and Chef Liu Xu were conducted, while guests enjoyed their authentic Chinese cuisine. Eye catching dragon and other Chinese dances were a new experience to Sri Lankan guests who were delighted with the unique experience and thanked the Association for Sri Lanka – China Social and Cultural Cooperation. Guests were happy that the hotel brought the Chinese experience to Kandy, for such events are usually limited to Colombo.
