The new Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka Andres Marcelo Gonzalez Garrido and Leader of the National Freedom Front, Minister of Industry Wimal Weerawansa discussed this at the Ministry of Industry in Kollupitiya recently.
The Minister first extended his congratulations to the new Cuban Ambassador. Weerawansa said that as the National Freedom Front, they were ready to provide the necessary support to the Ambassador in the future. The new Ambassador stated that he aimed to maintain the long-standing friendship between Sri Lanka and Cuba and that he was ready to further strengthen ties between the NFF and Cuba.
The Ambassador requested the assistance of the Minister of Industry to develop the Coconut Cultivation Industry in Cuba and stated that he was ready to extend his support in this regard.
Ministerial Adviser Sunil Hettiarachchi and Coordinating Secretary of the Bolivarian Cooperation Movement in Sri Lanka Jeewantha Jayatissa were also present on the occasion.
