SEC grants extension for listed entities to submit financial statements

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), having considered the contents of the letter dated May 28, 2021 of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) focusing on the inability of listed companies to release the Annual Reports and the Financial Statements in terms of the listing rules of the CSE under the prevailing situation relating to the Covid-19 pandemic has granted an one month extension.

SEC hereby directs the CSE as follows.

(1) To allow an additional period of one calendar month to listed entities who are required to submit the following financial statements on or before May 31, 2021.

(a) Annual Reports together with the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2020

(b) Interim Financial Statements for the last quarter for entities whose financial year ends on March 31, 2021

(2) To inform all listed companies of this directive forthwith.

The above concessions have been granted in light of the current COVID 19 Pandemic situation and considering the request made by the listed companies as represented by the CSE.

This directive shall be effective from the date hereof.
