Total turnover stood at Rupees (LKR) 2,826.7 million (mn) (USD14, 108.6k) vs. 12-month average daily turnover of LKR3, 057.9 mn (USD15, 262.7k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 82,094.4k against the 12-month average daily volume of 171,005.0k. Banking Sector, Diversified Financials and Food and Beverage were the main sectors that contributed to the daily turnover.

Foreign purchases stood at LKR40.3 mn enticed by Hemas Holdings (LKR5.8 mn), Tokyo Cement (LKR2.3 mn) and Central Finance (LKR1.8 mn) whilst total foreign sales amounted to LKR266.3 mn, mainly seen in Commercial Bank (LKR120.2 mn), Chevron Lubricants (LKR 31.7 mn) and Ceylon Tobacco (LKR15.2 mn). Further, an off-board crossing was noticed in Commercial Bank yesterday.
People’s Insurance, Mahaweli Coconut Plantation, Laugfs Power and HNB Finance touched their 52-week high prices yesterday whilst SMB Leasing reached its 52-week low price point. Further, Browns Investments, Industrial Asphalts, CIC Holdings (Non-Voting) and Royal Ceramics remained as the most actively traded stocks for the day.
Meanwhile, Vallibel Finance (VFIN) announced a sub-division of every existing One Ordinary Share into Four Ordinary Shares (1:4) where the total number of shares afterwards would increase to 235.4 mn. VFIN also declared an interim dividend of LKR6.0 for FY21, yesterday.
