Brining the much needed foreign exchange to Sri Lanka, Colombo Engineering under the direction of Kiran Atapattu provided Underwater Services to four Ships during curfew hours recently.
“Unique feature of these four repairs/inspections were that they were carried during curfew hours in Colombo and Galle Harbours with necessary approvals,” said Kiran Atapattu This operation also brought in revenue to both harbours and also to other service providers.
‘TOMINI DESTINY’ came in for a Lloyds Register of Shipping in-water survey and was attended to by the Colombo Engineering team at Galle Harbour. ‘BULK JAPAN” operated by a French Company came for an underwater inspection and underwater polishing to the Colombo anchorage also included taking of fuel replenishment the same time
The vessel, “EVER GLOBE” deployed for container operations in the Colombo Port also carried out a much needed underwater repair within the time-frame ‘EVER GREET’ which arrived for container operations at Colombo carried out an underwater survey and rectification at the same time. While these operation brought in much needed ‘Forex’ to Sri Lanka it also proved that reputed Sri Lankan ship repairing Companies are sought after even during lockdowns.
