In addition, 39 persons were referred to HelpAge Eye Hospital, Sinsapa Road, Wellawatte, for free Cataract Surgeries. Reading glasses were also distributed among persons.
SPMC, Chairman Dr. Sayura Samarasundara , Manager Marketing Tharanga Kulasekara and General Manager Sujeewa Jayasundara were present, while HASL was represented by a group of Mobile medical team members.
This has been the third consecutive year that SPMC had joined hands with HelpAge Sri Lanka to help needy Senior citizens in the country to improve their eye sight and health conditions as well as other social activities.
SPMC, together with HelpAge Sri Lanka, will continuously conduct similar Mobile Medical and Eye Camps in other districts in the coming years. HelpAge Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge highlighted the painstaking efforts made by SPMC for making this invaluable donation to conduct this Medical and Eye camp service continuously for the benefit of our own senior citizens.
