PROFOOD, PROPACK AND AG-BIZ Expo in August

Pro Food, Pro Pack & Ag-biz 2019, Sri Lanka’s only comprehensive food, agriculture and packaging exhibition will be held from August 2 to 4, 2019, for the 18th consecutive year at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Hall.

The Organizers also selected and awarded winners of Pro Food, Pro Pack & Ag-biz 2019, at this event.

The exhibition is organized by the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association, together with Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS).

More than 370 stalls have been allocated for local and foreign manufacturers, which is the largest event in the country in relation to food, beverage, packaging and agriculture sector.

The event which has witnessed an evolutionary increase over the decade, would be held under the theme “from the farm to the fork,” denoting the entire chain of the food industry which includes the inception of the food which mainly revolve around farms, to the process and finally, the food table of the consumer.

The Exhibition and Consumer Fair scheduled to be held within a span of three days, expects more than 40,000 visitors. The event also would help to interact with prospective buyers and also understand the modern technology being used for the sector.

Moreover, the event would feature all facets of the food and beverage industry and would include intricate details and meticulous process that is required for food products, in order to make them available to the consumer. During the event, the Institute of Science and Technology would present its annual research paper and several other institutes would conduct several training programs for interested parties.

The event is renowned for providing a unique and comprehensive platform for the discovery and introduction of food processing, engineering and packaging services amongst the host of other benefits, both visitors and stall holders would receive.

This year’s expo has two separate pavilions from the largest global players in the Industry - India and China. Over 100 companies from India and China would participate at this year’s event. The event is set to attract all stakeholders from many South East Asian countries as well.

The Ministry of Industries will sponsor the SME and micro sector entities pavilion. The Organizing Committee has taken a very good initiative by providing a special pavilion for University students, while this is an ideal opportunity to showcase their innovative products to more than 30,000 visitors.

The Exhibition is supported and endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The National Agri Business Council joins hands with the organizers to provide an insight to the agri business areas.
