Tourist arrivals fall by 2.3%

With a few weeks to go for the tourist peak season which begins in November, tourist arrivals fell by 2.3% in September from a year ago. Only 145,077 arrivals were recorded last September while this figure was 148,499 last year.

Arrivals from all key markets like Germany (15.1%) and China (14.3%) fell. This is despite some of the countries folding up their adverse Travel Advisories.
However the number of visitors from India grew 26.6% in September to 34,481 from a year ago and are up 6.1% to 267,601.
