Ambassador of Iran to Sri Lanka, Mohamed Zaeri Amiraniwill be the special guest speaker at a session on 'Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Iran' organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, on Wednesday, October 11 from 3.00 p.m to 4.30 p.m at the Chamber Auditorium, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.
He will be accompanied by the Deputy Ambassador of Iran, Mohamed Reza Ahamadi. The purpose of this session is to brief the business community on trade and regulations, items that are in demand for import and export, joint venture and investment opportunities in Iran and any other important information.
The participants will get an opportunity to interact with the Ambassador and officials of the Embassy at the session and find out any trade related information on Iran.
Iran is one of the world’s oldest civilizations, with settlements dating back to 4000 B.C. Its capital is Tehran. Its population is around 81 million. Iran is former Persia.
Iran is interested to supply medicine, medical equipment, agricultural machinery, tractors, fertiliser, bitumen, and petrochemicals to Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka‘s main exports to Iranare tea, coconuts, coco peat and fibre, and industrial gloves, Brazil nuts, cashew nuts, boxes, etc.
Sri Lanka imports from Iran include electrical insulators, screws, bolts, nuts and earth moving machinery.
