Ma Product Food Manufacturing Factory, Panadura launched the Nelli Cola herbal beverage drink yesterday at their factory to the local market and for export.
Chairman Muditha Samarakkody said that they invested around Rs. 25 million to import machinery and for R&D to launch this product.
Minister of Industries, Wimal Weerawansa said that these kinds of products made out of 100% raw material sourced from Sri Lanka augurs well for the local economy and brings more Sri Lankans to use local products.
The Minister added, in Sri Lanka, many people fall victim to food which are unworthy for consumption, produced and imported from foreign countries which results in the spread of non communicable disease. These products also help to add new items to the Sri Lanka export basket in the future and should be encouraged more.
