Park Street Mews restaurant introduces new menu

Park Street Mews restaurant in the Park street complex Colombo 2, is introducing a new menu inspired by a mix of Asian and Western flavours, from October. The new menu uses mainly fresh ingredients to playfully showcase favourite dishes.

“We are mindful of these challenging times we are presently going through. But on a positive note we introduce a fresh, varied and exciting menu to suit everyone’s taste and offer a delightful twist to the ordinary respecting health guidelines,” said Managing Director Harpo Gunaratne. Emphasis has been on the accompaniments, dips and sauces and the presentation of the food, providing an artistic fresh look with a modern Western- Asian twist.

Chef M. Kamal introduces a wide variety of flavours, taking diners on a culinary journey, offering new dishes along with the traditional delicacies and some healthy options.

The starters offer fresh fruits and vegetables, Asian specials with Vietnamese paper rolls with bean curd, ever popular chicken liver pate accompanied with citrus, berry chutney and apple, and Prawn with marinated shaved coconut, quail egg with a tangy cocktail sauce.

The Tom Yum soup is spicy and is an explosion of flavour. Salad range includes low carb and healthy options with chickpea, bean curd, yogurt, mint and coriander salad, Camembert cheese with apple puree and a fruity watermelon, avocado with tofu and basil salad. The main dishes are bold and cross-cultural. Seafood dishes include new flavours with grilled salmon with creamy coconut and tamarind sauce, seared Tuna with Sri Lankan herb sauce among its seafood options.

The fresh pasta ranges with a choice of homemade Italian sauces and the butternut squash Ravioli requires special mention, as a unique dish for the Mews restaurant.

Going local the Sri Lankan rice and curry with a choice of seafood, meat and fish with traditional vegetable accompaniments are served for lunch and dinner.

For a light meal an array of sandwiches and wraps with smoked salmon, prawn avocado on rye sourdough sandwich and a choice of veggie options for non-meat eaters. The Pastry Chef Chaminda bringing many years of experience has crafted sweet finishes in the desserts selection.

All this can be enjoyed with a wide selection of fresh fruit juice, fine wine and premium liquor with the new menu at Park Street Mews restaurant available for lunch and dinner.The restaurant also serves a dinner ‘deal’, to make it affordable for group entertainment. (MI)
