Sri Lanka Tourism will field the largest ever contingent of over 200 participants for the world’s biggest travel exhibition ITB, which will begin tomorrow (6) in Berlin.
“We will also re launch the Sri Lanka’s new Tourism campaign, ‘So Sri Lanka’ program in Berlin,” said Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau, Kishu Gomes.
He also said that an advertising agency would be picked in April to launch and market the ‘So Sri Lanka’ program. “We have allocated Rs. 3 billion for this promotional campaign for a period of three years.”
He said that they will also showcase a three minute video depicting Sri Lankan wildlife at the ITB.
“This is in addition to other events and meetings.”
ITB Berlin 2019 will be taking place from Wednesday, 6 to Sunday, 10 March, and from Wednesday to Friday will be open to trade visitors only.
ITB Berlin is the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. In 2018 a total of 10,000 companies and organisations from 186 countries exhibited their products and services to around 170,000 visitors, including 110.000 trade visitors. Parallel with the show the ITB Berlin Convention, the largest event of its kind, will be held from Wednesday, 6 to Saturday, 9 March 2019.
