National Cyber Security Conference on Nov. 7

The 11th Annual National Cyber Security Conference, an annual event organized by Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team, Coordination Centre (Sri Lanka CERT/CC) and Ministry of Telecommunication, Digital infrastructure and Foreign Employment will be held November 7, at Colombo Hilton Hotel.

This is the 11th year the event is been organized and the it includes, national cyber security conference, technical workshops, information security quiz and hacking challenge where local and foreign information security experts will discuss and share knowledge on latest trends cyber security arena, threats and vulnerabilities.

Focus groups for the event would be CEOs, CIO, Information security team heads etc. One of the key part in this years’ conference is the launching of ‘Sri Lanka Information and cyber security strategy’ that is aimed at next 5 years. Apart from the main conference there are three supporting technical workshops that will be held at the SLIDA building, DLC institute, computer labs. To build the capacity and knowledge of the next generation cyber security professionals, Sri Lanka CERT/CC has conducted an Information security quiz for university students on October 17, 2018 at BMICH. The hacking challenge was conducted on a computer lab set up prepared by Sri Lanka CERT/CC on October 10. First, second and third place winners of these supporting competitions were invited to the main conference on November 7, at Colombo Hilton and the winning trophy and certificates will be distributed by the chief guest.
