Calamander Group will invest around Rs. 2billion for the expansion of Coffee Bean, Molleys, Tea Leaf franchise and other food related businesses in Sri Lanka.
Chairman of Calamander Group, Roman Scott speaking to Daily News Business said that they hope to open more food outlets and also intensify their food movement operations. “We will also invest in a new bakery and freezing facilities.”
He said that today more people are dining out and are looking for places to hang out and we want to offer them the best of dining options.
He said that he hails from Kandy and some of the Coffee Bean investments would also come to Kandy.
He said that they are importing a lot of food items for their operations in Sri Lanka. “However we are still grippled by some of the additional taxes that they have to pay.”
He also said that they will acquire a bakery and modernize it to international standards. “This is to meet the demand of our food demand and for to supply food items for the new stores that would open soon.”
He also said that they will also have several beach bars in their new hotel in Calamander Unawatuna beach resort. “This would also be open to outside guests as well.” (SS)
