BMICH holds blood donation and alms giving

The BMICH recently organized a religious event followed by a blood donation campaign in commemoration and honour of its founders. The founders include late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike and former Cabinet Minister and Speaker of Parliament Anura Bandaranaike. The event also aimed to invoke blessings and protection of the BMICH, its employees their families and country from COVID-19.

With well-wishers and BMICH staff signing up, the scope of the blood donation campaign was truly unprecedented. Importantly. Undoubtedly, this campaign will have a very real and direct impact on a large number of people who are in need” said Sunil Dissanayake, CEO of the BMICH.

Even during lockdown the BMICH was used to host events that were streamed digitally.

Chanting of “Rathana Suthraya” followed by an alms giving for Buddhist priests was also held as part of the ceremonies.

BMICH is Sri Lanka’s largest and Asia’s very first purpose-built convention centre with ultra-modern facilities. Recently redesigned, renovated and refurbished, BMICH is South Asia’s Premier Integrated MICE Complex with all the facilities required to host any type of convention, seminar, exhibition, conference or wedding including multi-day international conventions and conferences.
