Lankan Confectionary Manufacturers invited for ‘China Candy Expo’ in September

Sri Lankan manufacturers of confectionary products will have access to the enormous Chinese market with the hosting of the ‘China Candy and China Ice Cream’ International All-food Expo 2020will beheld in Ningbo International Exhibition Center from September 5 to September 7, 2020 in Ningbo, China.

The exhibition will be organized by Beijing Land peace Exhibition Co., Ltd and will be supported by China Food Association, Taiwan Food Industry Development Association and Hong Kong International Food Association.

The venue will be Ningbo International Exhibition Center in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China.

This exhibition would have the ideal opportunity for Sri Lankan manufacturers of confectionary items such as biscuits, chocolates, jams, dried fruits, ice creams, sweets and sweetmeats to access the large Chinese market which has been untapped by Sri Lankan enerprises, President of the International Business Council, Kosala Wickramanayake told Daily News Finance yesterday.

The Director of International Department, Dallas, of Beijing Landpeace Exhibition Co. metthe Minister- Commercial, Alexi Gunasekera, of the Sri Lankan Embassyin Beijing and requested that Sri Lankan exportershave a minimum of 10 stalls so that Sri Lanka could beallocated a separate pavilion at the expo for higher visibility with other exhibitors and visitors. The exhibition will accommodate more than 890 exhibitors and will have estimated 89,000 visitors. In 2019, 78,329 distributors and visitors participated in the exhibition. The estimated value of RMB 9.568 billion in orders were booked at the previous event.
