Managing Director of Global Rubber Industries Prabhash Subasinghe has been appointed the Chairperson of the Export Development Board. He replaces outgoing chairperson Indira Malwatte. Global Rubber Industries is one of the leading exporters globally of tires.
Subasinghe is a proud past pupil of St Joseph’s College. He obtained a BSc in Applied Economics and Business. He has also received training from Harvard Business School, London Business School, Singularity University, and the Center for Creative Leadership at Colorado Springs.
Subasinghe is currently the chairman of the Sri Lankan association of manufacturers and exporters of rubber products (SLAMERP) since 2016. He is a board member and notable shareholder through Ayenka Holdings of Sanasa Development Bank. He is the managing director of Global Seafoods. He is the president of the Seafood Export Association of Sri Lanka.
