Seventy young participants of the ‘Technopreneurship for Social Change’ programme who successfully completed the Advanced Peer Coaching Training session were recognized at the recently concluded ‘#Our2030: Youth Dialogue’ in the presence of attendees James Morrow, Citi Sub-Cluster Head for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Ravin Basnayake, Country Officer, Citi Sri Lanka, Jorn Sorensen, Resident Representative, UNDP Sri Lanka, Shanaka Waduge, Head- Corporate Affairs and Manager, Citi Sri Lanka and Kalhari Kaluarachchi, Programme Manager- Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives, Cisco Systems Inc. A joint initiative of UNDP, Citi Foundation, Cisco and the National Youth Services Council, the ‘Technopreneurship for Social Change’ programme has reached more than 1000 young people from around the country in 2018 through 20 programmes held in 20 locations through e-learning courses on leadership, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
With the continuous support from it’s partners the programme will expand in 2019 to reach another 1000 young people in 20 locations while also conducting three focused programmes targeted at young girls, persons living with disabilities and juvenile/ young prisoners.
