Nawaloka Hospitals marks World Cancer Day

To mark ‘World Cancer Day’, industry leader Nawaloka Hospitals PlC will provide special offers for its cancer screening packages during February.

Simultaneously, it will hope to create cancer awareness and expand its facilities by commencing new cancer screening clinics including those targeting lung cancer and oral cancer.

Early detection serves as an integral tool in combating this disease and ending the injustice of preventable suffering from cancer. Cancer screening can flag cancerous cells and tissues even before symptoms develop. Although early cancer detection does not necessarily equate to a positive prognosis, it does greatly influence the efficacy of treatment.

“As the number of cancer cases in Sri Lanka increases each year, we at Nawaloka Hospitals understand the need to respond proactively to this threat. Early detection programmes such as this special initiative go a long way in aiding this agenda. They also complement the intense efforts of our high-quality cadre of experienced physicians, surgeons and laboratory and nursing staff who are equipped with the latest facilities,” said Nawaloka Hospitals Chairman Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa. According to available data published by the National Cancer programme of Sri Lanka, more than 17,000 patients are diagnosed with cancer annually, with oral cancer being the highest.

A 20% discount on a range of specific tests including Mammograms, PSA Tests along with a customized package for both males and females with prices starting as low as Rs. 5,000/-.

The Nawaloka Cancer Centre utilises the extensive talents of an experienced team of healthcare experts to provide cancer care benchmarked on international standards.
