Under the patronage of Eastern Province Tourist Bureau Chairman T Harry Prathab discussions were held on ways and means of improving tourism in the Eastern Province, challenges faced and solutions to solve them. The discussion was held at the Batticaloa, Saththurukkondan training centre recently.
As tourism is a major foreign exchange earner to Sri Lanka ideas and suggestions to attract tourists to the Eastern Province and to renovate the various tourist centres in the Eastern Province were examined.
General Manager of Eastern Province Tourist Bureau Dr. R.Gnanaseger and Members of the Director Board outlined views on this sector and made a field visit to develop and attract tourists to the Sallitivu beach in the Vakarai secretarial division.
They also had discussions with fishermen.
