Asiri Laboratories was once again recognized for demonstrating leadership, quality and service excellence among the private medical laboratories in the country with the National Quality Merit Award, organized by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
Asiri Laboratories received this coveted award under the ‘Healthcare sector-Large category’ and notably, this is the first time any private medical laboratory in Sri Lanka was recognized for high quality standards and honored at this level.
The Sri Lanka National Quality Awards is an annual program that recognizes Sri Lankan organizations for Performance Excellence. Winners are evaluated on criteria based on the world-renowned Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award of the USA. Over 80 countries globally employ this eminent quality framework to recognize organizations with the highest standards of performance excellence.
A rigorous site visit and review process was conducted by the examiners to ensure the organization is aligned to the aspects of performance excellence.
Commenting on receiving the award, Group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Manjula Karunarathne said, “We are extremely proud that Asiri Laboratories is the recipient of this prestigious award. We are continuously dedicated to ensuring that we provide the highest levels of service for the nation.”
“Globally accepted advanced diagnostic tools and state-of-the-art technology is used to conduct all our tests,” Dr. Karunarathne added.
This year’s accolade reinforces the organization’s impeccable track record. “Our goal is to aim for the pinnacle of the National Quality Award in 2020,” N P John, Group Laboratory Director, said.
