DFCC Bank gets US$ 30 mn from BlueOrchard to support SME, micro-financing sectors

DFCC Bank recently secured US$ 30 million in funding from BlueOrchard, a leading global impact investment manager, following an agreement signed between the management of both organizations.

The funds will be used to increase the levels of lending that the bank offers SMEs, whilst strengthening its micro-finance portfolio.

With a proven a track record of nurturing small businesses from their early stages, DFCC Bank takes pride in being one of the premier banking institutions in the country that promotes and supports the operations of small and medium enterprises.

The bank has also set up a special unit dedicated to Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) and endeavours to fulfil the unique requirements of these businesses by providing them with customized financial and banking solutions.

The recently obtained funds will be utilized to provide dedicated loans for small and medium enterprises and to enhance the bank’s micro financing solutions. The bank will also help these enterprises to overcome the challenges and risks that they may encounter in both local and hypercompetitive global business markets.

The loan facilities have been created with MSME needs and challenges in mind, and offer a wide range of options including loans for start-ups, for expansions or relocating machinery and operational activities, as well as for working capital.
