Despite slipping more than 100 points during the initial hour of trading, the Colombo bourse recovered and stood broadly unchanged whilst concluded yesterday on a mixed note.
Thus, the All Share Price Index marginally declined by 1.6 points (0.0%) to close at 7,742.1 while the S&P SL20 Index gained 3.5 points (+0.1%) to close the day at 3,029.6. Moreover, Carsons Cumberbatch, Bukit Darah, Melstacorp, LOLC Holdings and Commercial Leasing remained as the top negative contributors to the ASPI during the day.
Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at LKR1,551.6 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of LKR3,110.6 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 62,235.2 against the 12-month average daily volume of 173,262.
Banking, Diversified Financials, Transportation and Food & Beverage were the main sectors that contributed to the daily turnover.
